Executive Coaching is a dynamic, motivating and interactive relationship with a qualified and experienced Coach, assisting an individual or Coachee, to enhance their performance. It is an important component of a talent management strategy for high potential individuals and leaders, supporting individuals to continue to grow, learn and develop. During the coaching session we focus on enhancing overall performance whilst further developing behaviours and skills needed for success in their current, new or future role. Coaching provides a road map for behavioural change, offering fresh perspectives on personal and business challenges. The Coach assists and facilitates individuals to identify barriers to performance, whether linked to their own chosen behaviours and how they are perceived by others, or to current skill levels, knowledge and experience. Coaching assists the individual to increase their own awareness of what they need to do in order to become more effective, and to take responsibility for implementing the actions identified in order to arrive at solutions and realise success. Overall it leads to enhanced decision-making skills, greater interpersonal effectiveness, increased confidence, improved productivity, satisfaction with life and work and attainment goals.
Mentoring is a relationship between two individuals based on a mutual desire for development towards career goals and objectives. Whilst both a Mentor and a Coach assume responsibility for the process during the development journey, the Mentor has a slightly different role in that they also assume a responsibility for content and knowledge transfer, whilst the coaching process is more facilitative in nature. The Mentor is therefore usually more experienced and qualified than the mentee and is more directive in style than a coach. The relationship is a non-reporting one and replaces none of the organisational structures in place. We can work with organisations to set up a Mentoring Framework in-house, identify in-house mentors and provide training to embed the process. Or we can provide Mentors to work with key individuals to expedite their development.
